Its show time for robots!

Themed “Industrial Age”, as other contests of WER 2017 season, this US Open still adopted the brick robot-centered system. The contest is divided into arena contest, extended tasks and team display. The arena contest is in the form of “4+3——4 preset tasks and 3 additional tasks. The 3 additional tasks were announced at the test stage, which revealed the principle of “It’s a contest among students rather than coaches”.

At the venue, through brick attachment and programming, students made their costumed robots, which later became miners, architects and workers, working hard to complete a series of simulate tasks such as ore mining, iron tower building, railway building, metal smelting, goods transportation and even vapor machine improvement.

Creation display, see kids passion

The teams’ creation display is another exciting section. It includes not only the decoration of their team posters, but also the video selection of “My Robot Partner” made by participants.

The videos with creative thoughts put kids’ imagination, their passion in robotic study and the achievement of studying robotics into full play.

With the expansion of WER, more and more kids and adolescents are able to get in touch with this top robotic contest. The enormous educational value has also been widely accepted and recognized by the international society.

The WER US Open has provided robot fans, whether home or abroad, with excellent opportunities to communicate. Children gained unforgettable memory, and also friendships. Not long after, some of them will see each others again at WER World Championships on November in Shanghai, China!
